Armbruster says Rumble On The Red is Tougher Than State Tournament

Faribault Falcon wrestling Head Coach Jesse Armbruster told KDHL during the Faribault Coaches Show at Bashers Saturday the Rumble On The Red National Individual Wrestling Tournament is tougher than the State Tournament.

Coach Armbruster believes his team will crack the dirty dozen top rankings in Class 3A before the season is over and knows the Owatonna Huskies aren't too happy about being ousted from the Section Tournament last year by his Falcons.

Coach Armbruster believes even though his team has only two wrestlers currently ranked in the top ten of their weight class they will have quality throughout their lineup making them a tough out come tournament time.

However as he pointed out, that doesn't come automatically.

Hard work in the wrestling room is a must for his team to get to the level they need to be at to defeat a quality team like Owatonna.

Here are the latest Guillotine Class 3A team and area individual rankings.  All Big Nine individuals are included here:

106 pounds- Freshman Luke Peterson of Farmington 4th, freshman Dylan Anderson of Apple Valley 8th and Rochester Mayo 8th grader Marshall Peters 10th.

113 pounds- Sophomore Trayton Anderson of Farmington 2nd. Freshman Regan Schrempp of Apple Valley 6th and junior Jacob Goldberg of Lakeville North is 10th.

120 pounds- Northfield freshman Drew Woodley is 5th.

126 pounds- Apple Valley sophomore Brady Grose 8th and Rochester John Marshall freshman Connor Higgins is ranked 10th.

132 pounds- Apple Valley sophomore Sebas Swiggum is 5th.

138 pounds- Owatonna junior Peyton Robb is number one.  Senior Kyle Rathmann of Apple Valley is 5th.

145 pounds- Apple Valley junior Nate Larson is 5th.

152 pounds- Owatonna sophomore Cade King is 3rd.  Sophomore Grant Hendren of Lakeville South is 8th and Apple Valley Sophomore Devin Roberts 9th.

160 pounds- Lakeville North senior Wade Sullivan is 2nd and Apple Valley senior Jalen Thul 5th.

170 pounds- Eastview senior Alex Lindstrom is 3rd.

182 pounds- Owatonna senior Brandon Moen is number one and Apple Valley senior Jonah Johnson 10th.

195 pounds- Eastview senior Mike Delich is 2nd, Owatonna senior Griffin Thorn 5th, Farmington senior Eric Heusbourg 8th and Rochester John Marshall senior Montie Ridley 9th.

220 pounds- Faribault senior Felipe Ramirez is 3rd, Eastview senior Dane McDevitt 4th and Apple Valley senior Tanyi Besong 5th.

285 pounds Apple Valley junior Gable Steveson is number one and Faribault junior Dillon McEachran is ranked 10th.
