Excelsior, MN (KROC AM News) - One day after responding to a fatal jet ski accident on Lake Minnetonka, public safety officials responded Thursday to a reported drowning on the same lake.

This time the victim was an adult male.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol, a report was received around 6:00 pm Thursday about “a swimmer who had gone underwater and didn’t resurface” at Commons Beach in Excelsior.

A first responder spotted the victim still underwater and he was pulled out and put into a patrol boat. Officials say “Lifesaving measures began on the boat and paramedics took over once the boat returned to shore.”

The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

As of Friday morning, the victim had not been identified.

The fatal jet ski accident happened on Wednesday.
