The Eagles Cancer Telethon is one of my favorite events. There are no celebrity entertainers or anything like that, it's just regular people from our area coming together to raise money for a great cause, and that's why I love it.

During a normal year, you might see friends, neighbors, or coworkers on stage showing off their unique talents in front of a crowd at the Mayo Civic Center, but this year's event has been modified because of the pandemic. The event will be held at the KTTC studios instead of the Civic Center and there will be no live acts. KTTC will show some of the best performances from past years.

Eagles Cancer Telethon Executive Producer Tony Pileggi told the NBC affiliate, "COVID-19 stopped a lot of things but it didn't stop cancer. So we still want to raise as much money as we can for cancer research." The telethon will air on KTTC this Saturday from 2:00 pm -10:00 pm and viewers will get the chance to make call-in donations. All of the money raised goes to cancer research.

Last year's event raised over $1-million dollars. Learn more about the Eagles Cancer Telethon here.
