AM Minnesota Today Talking Turkeys

My guest on today's AM Minnesota Program will be 6th generation turkey farmer Erica Sawatzke. With Thanksgiving coming up Thursday it is time for my annual AM Minnesota program to talk about the turkey industry in Minnesota, or maybe "brag" about the turkey industry in Minnesota! Yes, I believe Minnesota is still the largest turkey producer in the United States at around 45 million birds!

The turkey industry in Minnesota is more than just producing turkeys for consumers Thanksgiving feast. It also creates a lot of economic activity and jobs in rural areas. It is much more than the turkey farmers actually taking care of the birds. There are thousands of jobs and careers in the  service sector that provide the turkey farmers with what they need to raise turkeys.
