We've entered into the heat of a Minnesota summer a little bit earlier than many of us would like, one thing to remember is to not leave children or pets unattended in vehicles during these periods of extreme heat as cars and trucks can heat up very rapidly in just a few minutes. On to this week's adoptable animal of the week, Sammy. Sammy was a recent addition to the Mower County Humane Society and can be yours for a small fee and an approved application.

Our friend Michaela Tews, a volunteer at the Mower County Humane Society, has more on Sammy.

"Sammy was found wandering in Austin during the fall of 2020. He is about 2 years of age and is now neutered, current on shots/dewormings, and has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV/HW. We are looking for a loving, indoor-only home for this friendly guy. He would do best with a family that does not have young children because he can play rough. He would also do best as an only cat."

Sammy's adoption fee is $50. Michaela reminded me that in order to adopt a pet, be sure to have a pet porter or similar enclosure to take your new pet home in. You also must be 21+ years to adopt from the Mower County Humane Society.

If you are interested in meeting Sammy or any of our other cats, go here and complete and submit or simple, online application.

Ten Things Only Minnesotans Over 35 Will Remember About the World Wide Web

The internet machine has been around a lot longer than you might remember,. When you were kids saying PAW so they didn't know you were talking about them, to sending roses to people with the keyboard, it was a lot of fun and seems so innocent now.

Some of the slang is still around because people of a certain age are still using it, but a lot has died off. BRB will never leave us, though. LOL
