A portion of a retaining wall along I-35W North in the Twin Cities has resulted in at least one lane being closed while emergency repairs can be made to the retaining wall. The section of I-35W North affect by this closure is near the exit to Highway 36 off I-35 in Roseville.

MnDOT's 511.mn website does offer one comment on the closure/traffic change. The comment states that The right two lanes are closed north of Industrial Blvd through the start of the exit ramp to Hwy 36 for cement wall failure.

Traffic camera video of the area shows just the furthest right lane is closed to traffic as concrete barriers were brought in to protect workers who have already begun looking into the retaining wall failure.

In other MnDOT-related news, next week drivers in the Cannon Falls area on Highway 19 will experience some delays as 18 trees are slated to be cut down, which will result in flaggers controlling traffic for periods of time.

Approximately 18 trees will be cut down and removed beginning March 28 along Hwy 19 in Cannon Falls as construction crews prepare to start work on April 1, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

There will be brief traffic delays on March 28 as crews remove trees and utilize the street with equipment. Flaggers will briefly stop traffic during these removal efforts.

The trees have been marked for removal. Most of the trees are along the boulevard on the left side of the road for eastbound travelers on Hwy 19 in Cannon Falls between Mill Street and Oak Street. This work is expected to complete by the end of the month. Construction is scheduled to begin April 1.

Motorists should be alert for work crews and slow down through the work zone. - MnDOT
