A Mapleton man is now facing criminal charges after he was accused of assaulting a firefighter who responded to a medical emergency call. 35-year-old Carlos Salinas Jr. was charged in Blue Earth County Court with two felony counts of 4th-degree assault for the February 2nd incident.

According to SouthernMinnesotaNews.com, the Mapleton Fire Department responded to a medical call that involved a possible heart attack. After arriving, Salinas told first responders that he was hot. As a result of being hot, it was reported that Salinas then stripped naked and exclaimed he was Jesus as emergency personnel tried to examine him.

The criminal complaint also stated that a witness reported Salinas at one point jumped on the kitchen table and hit his head on the ceiling light.

According to the Mankato Free Press, Salinas struck two victims in the face. The first responders noted Salinas appeared to be having mental health issues at the time.
