The leaves are peaking, the temperatures are falling (a little bit), and the Minnesota high school football regular season is over, which means its time for playoffs, and they start this week.

Section tournaments open this Tuesday (10/22), followed by state tournament matchups in early November, all with trips to U.S. Bank Stadium for Prep Bowl 2024 the weekend before Thanksgiving on the line.

The top seeds in each of the southeastern Minnesota sections are Leroy-Ostrander-Lyle-Pacelli in 9 Man, Goodhue in Section 1A, Chatfield in Section 1AA, Stewartville in Section 1AAA, Byron in Section 1AAAA, and Owatonna in Section 1AAAAA. Chatfield, Byron, and Owatonna all receive first round byes in their sections.

Minnesota's top-ranked team in each class include Nevis in 9-Man, Minnesota in Class A, Barnesville in Class AA, Stewartville in Class AAA, Becker in Class AAAA, Moorehead in Class AAAAA, and Maple Grove in Class AAAAAA.

There are no section tournaments for Class AAAAAA schools. Instead, there is a 32-team Class AAAAA State Tournament bracket, with play set to begin this Friday, concluding in the state championship game on November 22nd at U.S. Bank Stadium.
