Memorial Day marks the unofficial start a summer, a three-day weekend, and a chance to pay respect to those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country, and with that came the annual Faribault Memorial Day parade through downtown Faribault and program in Central Park.

With low temperatures and cloudy skies, a good sized crowd was in downtown Faribault commemorating and remembering those who have died in service to our country. The annual Memorial Day parade traveled along Central Avenue through downtown Faribault and concluded in Central Park where a program followed. The parade include the Faribault High School Marching Band, the Bethlehem Academy marching band, Boy Scout troops, a horse club, classic cars, local representatives and community leaders, and several veterans. Additionally, there were people taking time to visit the Veteran's Memorial at the Rice County Courthouse both before and after the parade.
