You know those places you just kind of assume will always be around? The ones that have been there forever, part of your Minnesota childhood, and now, you’re the one passing that tradition on to your kids.

One year you’re chasing them through the pumpkin patch, and the next, they’re tall enough to reach the apples on the highest branches. It becomes part of your fall routine - something that feels permanent, like it’ll always be there when the leaves start to turn.

That’s why this news hits a little harder than expected.

After more than 50 years of being a local fall favorite, the family behind Sekapp Orchard is officially ready to pass the baton. The orchard is up for sale.

Whether you went for the pumpkins, the corn maze, the apples, or just the cider, chances are you’ve made a memory there. Maybe even a few dozen.

The good news? Sekapp will still operate as usual with the owners planning to keep it going until a buyer is found. And hopefully, someone steps in who sees the value not just in the land or the apple trees (there are more than 8,000 of them, by the way), but in what this place means to the community.

For those that haven't experienced Sekapp, this Minnesota orchard is located just outside Rochester city limits. It's a beautiful spot with sweeping views of downtown Rochester, a creek running through the property, wooded pockets perfect for wandering, and wildlife around every corner.

There are also five outbuildings, including a main steel-framed building that’s already set up with a retail storefront. Plus, there’s a 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home right on the property, so you can live where you work, or just enjoy your morning coffee with orchard views.
