With the weather finally warming up and spring starting to settle in, it’s the perfect time to embrace some old-school fun. Drive-in theaters might feel like a thing of the past, but they’re still out there, and they’re still as magical as ever.

Back in the 1950s, Minnesota had nearly 80 of them. Sadly, these days, most have faded into memory. There are still a handful lighting up the night sky, offering that timeless movie experience you can’t get anywhere else.

If you ever get the chance to go, go. It's nostalgic and just plain fun. Pull in, tune your radio to the station, load up on popcorn, and watch a movie under the stars. We went to one a few years back, and my then 8-year-old sister dubbed it "the most epic-est thing ever." Honestly, same.

That memory had me wondering which (if any) drive-in theaters are still running here in Minnesota and I found that there are still a few open across the state. Many even offer double features, which sounds amazing... if you can stay awake past the first one. Easier said than done.

From my experience, when they do the double feature, the first film is more family-friendly, and the second leans a little more grown-up. But, how cool is that? Two movies for the price of one!
