New Minnesota Attraction Lets You Float Down the Mississippi in a Hot Tub
Floating down the river during the summer is so fun and relaxing. It also feels like a very Minnesotan or Midwestern thing to do. But it's a great time!
But what about... floating down a river in a hot tub?
There's a new business/attraction in Minneapolis that rents out these hot tub boats. You can rent one, hop in on the Mississippi River, and float down the river while in a hot tub. This sounds amazing.

Rent a Floating Hot Tub in Minneapolis
The company is called Minnesota Hot Tub Boats. They just opened for the very first time. Their normal operating schedule will be March 1st through November 30th, weather depending, of course.
Each hot tub boat can fit up to 6 people (or 950 lbs, which ever limit is hit first). Kids have to be at least 13.
The boats launch off of Boom Island Park. Rentals are for an hour and a half and costs between $300 and $425 depending on the day of the week you book for.
Yes, someone needs to operate the boat. And yes, alcohol is allowed. But let's get into the details about that a little more.
Hot Tub Boat Rules (Who Drives, Food, and Alcohol)
Yes, while I think floating in it would be the most fun option, it is a drivable boat, so that means someone needs to be the operator. That person has to be 21 or older and they have to have a MN Boat Rental Safety Certificate or a boaters license from Minnesota, another state, the USCG, or Canada.
Food is NOT allowed on the hot tub boat, however, alcohol is, as long as it's "a reasonable amount", as they say on their FAQ page. They have the right to deny or limit you bringing alcohol on board for whatever reason. And it's the law that whoever is designated as the boat operator cannot drink.
Also, no, you can't hop in the Mississippi River as you're floating/boating in the hot tubs. I mean, why would you want to do that anyway? You're in this amazing, floating hot tub.
This looks like the most fun idea ever! If they don't book up too fast, I might need to hop on this idea with some friends.
