Grab a Free Pumpkin This Year at Fun Rochester Event!

Rumors of pumpkin spice lattes appearing have been circulating and that just means one thing...fall is coming.  Little pops of color start showing up everywhere on our trees and everything just turns magical as our nights get a little bit cooler.  But one pop of color is my favorite...and that is the orange of pumpkins.

Free Pumpkin Event Happening in Rochester, Minnesota!

If you'd love to get a free pumpkin this year, check out this fun event happening in Rochester, Minnesota this fall.  Here's everything you need to know:

• WHAT: Free Pumpkin Event
• WHEN: Sunday, October 20th
• TIME: 11:00 am until 2:00 pm
• WHERE: 2765 Commerce Dr NW, Rochester, MN (Head to the South parking lot of the Keller Williams building)
• WHAT TO EXPECT: Bring your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and friends and get a FREE pumpkin.  Enjoy coloring contests, candy, and pumpkins!  The cost of the pumpkins are covered by John Buckingham.

Do you know what state produces the most pumpkins?

If you drive outside of Rochester, even just a tiny bit, there is a good chance you will drive by a very large field of pumpkins.  It's almost breathtaking at times to go over a hill and then BAM!, there are dots of orange everywhere.  I'm not sure where the pumpkin fields will show up this year yet but I almost always see one on Hwy 63 just past the 75th Street NE roundabout.

Minnesota isn't a winning state for having the most pumpkins produced, but there is one state that has a huge lead over everyone else.  The big winner in pumpkin production is Illinois which grew 630 million pounds of pumpkins in 2022.  The next winning state was Indiana with 160 million pounds.
