I'll never forget when I first saw the inside of the Historic Chateau Theatre in Rochester.  Not sure if my jaw dropped at my first glance, but I know I was in awe of what was in front of me.  At this time, the Historic Chateau Theatre was home to a Barnes & Noble...and it was magical.

If you've never had a chance to step inside this phenomenal piece of Rochester history, you'll soon have a few opportunities thanks to a new revival for this space.

Movies Return to the Historic Chateau Theatre in Rochester, Minnesota

Back in 1927, the Chateau Theatre in the Peace Plaza was the space for Rochester residents to enjoy plays, concerts, operas, movies, and more.  Today, we get to experience some of that again!

One of the goals for this site since 2022 has been consistent movie programming.  Starting September 30th, 2025, that will be in play for our community.

"We're thrilled ot use the space for movies again.  I love hearing stories from those who have attended movies or worked at the Chateau in years past...This is more than a film night - it's a restoration of collective memory, a chance to bring people together in a timeless space." - Naura Anderson, operator of the Historic Chateau
