I'm not saying that proper naming is the key, but how many hospitals have you encountered that had names like "Fred's Hospital," or "Kenny's Surgery And Slots?" And, if you did happen upon "Fred's Hospital," how confident would you be in Fred's abilities?

Luckily, here in Illinois, that doesn't matter. You could search the whole state and never find Fred's Hospital or Kenny's Surgery and Slots.

What you will find are 26 Illinois hospitals that a new study ranks as the best in Illinois, and among the very best in the entire nation.

How Did Someone Determine That 26 Illinois Hospitals Are So Much Better Than The Others?

The website r.statista.com is home to the experts in the assessment of companies, brands, and products. Their mission statement says "We are committed to empowering businesses by delivering accurate, comprehensive rankings and esteemed awards that catalyze growth, foster innovation, and promote transparency in the market."

With that in mind, to come up with their hospital ratings they based the ratings on a nationwide online survey of health care professionals, quality of care metrics, accreditation data, patient satisfaction data, and more. Overall, they looked at over 700 hospitals and medical centers nationwide.

So, let's take a look at the 26 Illinois hospitals that are doing it better, according to r.statista.com's study.
