Young Minnesota Child Drowned in Backyard Swimming Pool
Cottage Grove, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in a Twin Cities suburb are investigating the apparent drowning death of a young child.
The Cottage Grove Public Safety Department says emergency crews responded around 2:45 PM on Thursday to a home after receiving a report of a three-year-old girl found in a swimming pool. A news release indicates family and neighbors found the child unresponsive and began lifesaving measures.

Police officers arrived just several minutes after receiving the 911 call and continued the life saving efforts. Cottage Grove officials say the little girl was then transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where she was pronounced dead.
The name of the young victim has not been released.
