Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police are looking for a motorist that hit a bicyclist in a Rochester intersection over the weekend.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to the report of an accident involving a bicycle and vehicle shortly after midnight Sunday morning.

The bicyclist remained at the scene and was visibly suffering from injuries, the police report indicates. The vehicle was gone by the time officers arrived.

Vehicle Hits Bicyclist in Crosswalk at Intersection of Valleyhigh Dr. and 19th St. NW in Rochester

Responding officers found the bicyclist suffering from injuries to his head and face. He was transported from the scene to a hospital, Grayson said.

The police report indicates the bicyclist was on his bike and in the crosswalk when the suspect vehicle struck the bike’s back tire as the bicyclist was crossing the road.

Police have not released the bicyclist’s name. A description of the suspect vehicle is not available.

As of Monday morning no arrests have been announced. Grayson says the collision is under investigation.
