Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The driver of a vehicle that was reported stolen in Wisconsin was arrested outside of a Rochester restaurant Thursday evening.

That’s according to Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson. The vehicle discovery occurred around 7 p.m. 

Grayson says officers were notified that a vehicle reported stolen in La Crosse, WI was tracked to Rochester by a GPS. 

Suspected Vehicle Thief Refuses to Exit Vehicle After Being Caught by Rochester Police

Police found the vehicle in a restaurant parking lot in the area of 37th St. and East Frontage Rd. Northwest. 


The suspect driver, who was later identified as 35-year-old Shayna Hall of LaCrosse, refused to exit the vehicle and had locked its doors, the police report says.

Officers called a towing company to the scene. The employee was able to unlock the vehicle and officers arrested Hall. 

The police report does not say how long Hall was in the vehicle, however jail records indicate Hall was booked into the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center shortly before 8:30 p.m. 

She’s being held on suspicion of possessing/receiving stolen property. The restaurant the reportedly stolen vehicle was parked at was not named in the police report.
