Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain James Schueller says the man was riding with a group north of Dover when he lost control of the snowmobile and was thrown from it. The crash occurred around 10 p.m.

The snowmobile operator, described as a 30-year-old man, was flown from the scene by Mayo 1. Schueller said there was not an update on his condition available on Saturday morning, however the injuries were described as non-life-threatening when first responders arrived on scene.

The preliminary report indicates the man was complaining of neck and back pain. Schueller said the call notes say the injured rider and other members in his group were not showing signs of impairment.

The snowmobiler’s identity is not yet available. The crash investigation remains ongoing.
