Preston, MN (KROC-AM News)- A truck driver was hospitalized after a collision with multiple cows on a southeastern Minnesota highway.

The State Patrol responded to the scene in Fillmore County shortly before 4:30 Saturday morning. He was the only person in the vehicle.

Twin Cities Area Truck Driver Taken to Hospital After Crash with Cows on Hwy. 16 Near Preston
The semi truck-cow collision occurred on Hwy. 16 west of Preston. 52-year-old Jim Mark Gregoire of Forest Lake was identified as the truck driver.
Gregoire was driving the semi west on the two-lane highway when the truck collided with multiple cows on the roadway, according to the state crash report.
He was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.

Gregoire was buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state crash report says.
The crash report does not say how many cows were involved and does not mention the conditions of the animals. The Preston Fire Department and Lanesboro EMS also responded to the semi truck-cow crash.
