Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -  A 38-year-old Rochester man has been sentenced to five years on probation for a child pornography conviction.

John Dewey Church earlier entered a Norgaard plea to a single count of child pornography. The plea means he admits guilt but does not remember committing the crime due to impairment, most often caused by drug and/or alcohol use.

The criminal complaint says 10 images of suspected child sexual abuse material were found on Church's cell phone when authorities executed a search warrant and seized the device in connection with an investigation into numerous harassment complaints two years ago. The court document indicated two of the images on the cell phone were recognized as no one child sex abuse material through a national database run by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Last year, Church was given a 150-day jail sentence for a felony terroristic threats conviction. It involved a senior member of the Rochester Police Department who was connected to the investigation into the harassment complaints. He also admitted to several gross misdemeanor harassment charges for violating restraining orders.
