Update: Woman Injured in Crash Near Rochester Hy-Vee Has Died 

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department has released more information about a crash that closed part of a busy street Monday afternoon.

Police had asked the public to avoid an intersection near one of the city’s Hy-Vee stores due to the traffic accident.

A post on the department’s X account indicated one person was injured and that the Forensic Mapping Unit was at the scene.

Monday’s crash occurred near the 37th St. Northwest Hy-Vee at the intersection of 37th St. and 3rd Ave. Northwest around 11:30 a.m. The road was closed for about two hours Monday.

Update: 77-Year-Old Rochester Woman Transported by Ambulance Following Crash Near Hy-Vee

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a northbound vehicle leaving the grocery store collided with a vehicle traveling east on 37th St., according to Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson.

Grayson described the injured driver as a 77-year-old woman from Rochester. She was transported to the hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance.

An update on her condition is not available and her name has not been released. The other driver was not hurt.
