Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Illinois man, who was previously the subject of an arrest warrant after he skipped his original sentencing hearing, has been placed on probation for a high-speed chase at speeds well over 100 mph in Rochester.

According to Olmsted County Court records, 34-year-old Deander Pulliam was arrested over the Labor Day weekend in 2023. He was apprehended in a farm field on the edge of Chatfield.

The criminal complaint in his case states that he was suspected of being the driver of an SUV that sped away from a State Trooper following an attempted traffic stop for speeding on Highway 52 near the 6th Street Southwest Interchange in Rochester. The court document says the trooper observed him switching lanes and passing vehicles on the right and left shoulders of the highway at speeds estimated at around 120 mph.

After the trooper discontinued the pursuit due to public safety concerns, the charges state that Chatfield police reported later in the day that a man and woman, matching the descriptions of the occupants of the SUV, had been spotted in Chatfield. The pair was located in a field near Highway 52, which is where Pulliam was taken into custody.

He was charged with a felony count of fleeing police, along with misdemeanor reckless driving and driving without a license. An Olmsted County jury convicted him last November of the felony fleeing police charge and reckless driving.

Pulliam was sentenced this week to a stayed 13 month prison sentence and three years on probation.
