Update: Eyota Man Severely Injured in Fiery Tractor-Tanker Truck Crash 

Eyota, MN (KROC-AM News)- Mayo One responded to a fiery collision involving a farm tractor and tanker truck near Eyota Wednesday night.

Dispatch reports indicate the semi had caught on fire and that first responders did not know what liquid was being hauled in the tanker. 

Firefighters determined the liquid was not flammable or hazardous and extinguished the fire

The State Patrol says the crash happened shortly before 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 42 and Silver Creek Rd. Northeast, which is just north of the highway’s roundabout with Olmsted County Rd. 9.

A 25-year-old man from Eyota was operating the tractor. His name and medical condition are not yet available. 

The truck driver has been identified as 63-year-old Bruce Alan Byer of Noble, Oklahoma. He was not hurt, according to the State Patrol.

Both the semi and tractor were traveling south on Hwy. 42 when they collided, the state crash report says. The State Patrol plans to release more information regarding the crash by Friday night. 

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Eyota Fire Department, Dover Fire Department, Eyota Ambulance and Mayo One helicopter also responded to the fiery crash scene.
