Fatal Officer Involved Shooting in Small Minnesota Town Connected to Murder Case
Belle Plaine, MN (KROC-AM News)- There was a fatal officer-involved shooting in a small Minnesota town Thursday morning.

Limited information is available. Officials say the fatal use of force incident, which occurred around 6:30 a.m., is connected to a recent murder in St. Paul.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has responded to the scene of the shooting. It happened in Bell Plaine, which is about 45 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
Bell Plane Police were asking the public to avoid a neighborhood area of the town of just under 8,000 people. Police indicated the incident had started overnight and that there was no safety risk for the public.
The St. Paul Police Department is confirming its officers were involved in the deadly shooting and that one person has died. No law enforcement injuries were reported.
St. Paul Police say the fatal officer-involved shooting is related to a homicide reported in the city’s lowertown neighborhood on Wednesday evening.
Multiple media reports indicate a St. Paul artist was gunned down. Police found her in an alley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details regarding the events that led up to the shooting are not yet available. It’s also not yet publicly known how many members of law enforcement fired their service weapons.
The identity of the person shot and killed has also not been released.
