Authorities have identified the drowning victim as 26-year-old Reynaldo Antonio Patishan Hernandez of Northfield.
Witnesses told deputies he and a 19-year-old man were on an inflatable device outside of the swimming area when a wave from a passing boat caused the men to fall into the water.
Both men could not swim, the news release says. A bystander then entered the water and rescued the 19-year-old man.
Patishan Hernandez was submerged before he could be rescued, authorities say.
Emergency personnel responded to the lake around 5:30 Sunday evening and recovered Patishan Hernandez’s body around 8 p.m.
Officials say the dive team found him in about eight feet of water roughly 40 yards offshore.
