
Incarcerated Cannon Falls Woman Sentenced in Rochester DWI Fleeing Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- An incarcerated southeast Minnesota woman has been sentenced for a fleeing incident that happened in Rochester.

52-year-old Hope Elaine Kennsingten is currently serving a 64-month prison sentence for felony DWI convictions in Dakota and Washington counties, along with a felony harassment conviction in Olmsted County.
She was arrested for the fleeing incident in Rochester last June, about a month before she was incarcerated for the prior cases.

Cannon Falls Woman Who Entered Guilty Plea in Rochester Fleeing Case Receives Prison Sentence
The Cannon Falls woman was accused of speeding away from a traffic stop initiated by a Rochester police officer who recognized her as a person wanted on an active arrest warrant.
The charges say the officer did not pursue and aired a description of her vehicle.

Officers later found her near the Econo Lodge hotel at 1850 South Broadway Ave, where she had abandoned the vehicle after running into a curb. She was captured in a back yard near the hotel.
When she was apprehended, the arresting officer reported indications of impairment, according to the court document.
Plea Agreement Reached in April
Kennsingten entered a guilty plea to a felony DWI charge in Olmsted County Court in April.

In exchange, the Olmsted County Attorney's Office dismissed another felony DWI charge, a felony count of fleeing police, and several misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor traffic offenses.
Sentence Handed Down on Tuesday
On Tuesday, Kennsingten was sentenced to 57 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. She’s been given credit for 358 days spent behind bars.
Minnesota Department of Corrections records indicate she’ll serve the prison sentence concurrently with the prior prison sentence.
