‘I Think I Will’ – Musk Teases Lawsuit Against Minnesota Governor Walz
A new political drama is brewing between the world's richest man, Elon Musk, and Minnesota Governor and VP candidate Tim Walz.
The showdown between Musk and Walz started after the governor joined MSNBC host Rachel Maddow for an interview, in which he claimed Musk was a Nazi.

Walz’s Remarks on MSNBC
Walz has been relatively quiet since the election, but he's raising some eyebrows after his appearance on Maddow's show. When asked about Musk’s recent actions, Walz responded, "Of course" the tech CEO made the "Nazi salute," referring to a gesture Musk made during a speech last week.

Calls for Musk to Sue Minnesota Governor
Now, some are calling on Musk to sue Walz and media outlets over these claims, including the billionaire’s mother.
Maye Musk, Elon's mom, has been urging her son to take legal action, saying she has been "getting so much hatred" over the controversy.
Musk Responds
Elon Musk responded to the calls for a lawsuit by saying, "I think I will." The Tesla CEO then went on to call Walz "creepy ."
Can Musk Actually Sue?
Elon Musk could try to sue Governor Tim Walz and media outlets for defamation if they explicitly called him a Nazi, but winning such a case would be challenging. Since Musk is a public figure, he’d need to prove they knowingly lied or acted recklessly with the truth, a high bar to clear.
If the statements were opinions, quotes from Musk himself, or general reporting on a controversy, they’d likely be protected under the First Amendment. Defamation cases like this are complex, so while Musk could file a lawsuit, actually winning it would be a much harder battle.
