Every year, as another winter becomes a distant memory, people in Minnesota look forward to annual occasions that verify that summer is on the way.

Of course, that can mean a lot of different things to people. For me, the one thing I look forward to each year is when we can take our boat out of winter storage and get it back on one of our favorite lakes.

On a larger, public scale, there are outdoor festivals, the Twins back at Target Field, and other warmer-weather things we look forward to. For my kids, the big question is when Valleyfair will be open again. Okay, who am I kidding? I look forward to that too because rollercoasters are my jam.

Well, for everyone who loves Valleyfair, good news arrived this week on its opening date for the 2025 season, along with news of a new festival that park-goers can attend this year.

Valleyfair Announces 2025 Opening Date And New Festival

Valleyfair Amusement Park announced this week that it will open for the season on Sunday, May 11, in Shakopee.

Valleyfair will then be open daily from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with Waterpark hours from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Raul Rehnborg, Valleyfair's vice president and general manager, confirmed that fan favorites like ValleyScare would return this year, and 2025 will also mark the inaugural year of the Juicy Lucy Festival.

“Our culinary team has been busy testing a range of juicy lucy burgers and traditional Minnesota foods as well as working with a lineup of local breweries to showcase those flavors we pride ourselves on as Minnesotans", Rehnbord said, adding that they are also securing a lineup of Minnesota bands to showcase during the event.
