Several annual traditions across the Northland remind us that Thanksgiving is fast approaching. It's not only the fact that Halloween is over and we've all set our clocks back to end Daylight Saving Time, but there are great food traditions too.

One annual food tradition in Northern Minnesota has become so popular that people await the word that it's once again available so they can go get it, because it's only available for a short time.

That good word arrived on Sunday, November 1, when Burrito Union in Duluth officially announced that its Thanksgiving favorite had returned.

Burrito Union Announces The Return Of The Popular Thanksgiving Burrito

Burrito Union, located at 1332 E. 4th Street in Duluth, is a locally owned, atmospheric Mexican cantina that is a fun, eclectic place to eat and drink.

Burrito Union boasts that it is 'your go-to destination for flavors that pack a punch and an atmosphere that brings people together.'

Among its many fan favorites are the monthly burrito specials. Speaking of their monthly specials, November brings what is their most popular creation, the Thanksgiving Burrito, and it was announced in a recent Facebook post that it's officially back.

The burrito is loaded with roasted white and dark turkey, sweet corn, stuffing, and a choice of mashed regular or sweet potatoes. It's literally a complete turkey dinner that you can hold in your hand, and it comes with a side of turkey gravy and cranberry salsa.

Burrito Union recommends pairing it with Fitger's Brewhouse Gale Force Cranberry Ale, "a rich, very dry, strong Belgian ale with lots of yeast character. Citrus, clove, and black pepper play host to over 300 pounds of cranberries."
