Another Year I Should Have Gone To Bentleyville Before It Got Cold
Facepalm. It was like 40-something degrees when Bentleyville opened for the 2025 Christmas season. Now, the long-range forecast looks like we're going to continue to be colder than average for the next couple of weeks, and that's not all.
The National Weather Service in Duluth predicts colder-than-average temperatures all the way until December 18th. That doesn't mean it will warm up after the 18th; that's just how far out they do their long-range forecasts. There could also be some more precipitation.
The rest of December is also likely to be colder-than-average. What does that mean for temperatures? Highs normally in Duluth for December are in the low 20-degree range, but we've already seen days below zero, and with highs only in the single digits. We can expect high temperatures to be in the teens.

Why didn't I go to Bentleyville sooner? Duluth sure got hit with an abrupt start to winter. After experiencing a mild and long fall season, winter came roaring in right before Thanksgiving, dumping a foot of snow in just a few days, and temperatures plummeted below zero.

The good news is you can always bundle up, warm up by the fire pits, or with some hot chocolate. In my case, it will be all the above. Bentleyville is open all the way until Saturday, December 27th. The final night of Bentleyville will have a closing ceremony complete with fireworks.
