
State Patrol: Man Killed While Walking on Highway
Mahnomen, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man was killed Friday morning while walking on a highway in northwestern Minnesota.
The State Patrol says the victim was struck by a pickup truck just before 6:30 a.m. The deadly incident occurred on Highway 59 about two miles south of the town of Mahnomen, which is located about 30 miles north of Detroit Lakes within the White Earth Reservation.
The victim was identified as 40-year-old Lee Defoe of Waubun. The State Patrol report indicates he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was identified as 39-year-old Zachary Mehr of St. Cloud. He was not injured.
