These Minnesota cops just reeled in a big one... literally.

On Saturday afternoon (Aug. 30), officers tried pulling over a 2000 white Toyota Tundra towing a U-Haul trailer after the driver ran a red light at Yankee Doodle Road and Denmark Avenue in Eagan. Instead of stopping, the driver hit the gas and led officers on a chase that wound its way into St. Paul.

One of Eagan PD’s Chevy Tahoes was equipped with a brand-new tool called The Grappler, which is basically a heavy-duty net designed to snag a fleeing vehicle’s back wheels and bring the chase to a safe stop. This was the department’s very first time using it (also the first agency in the North Star State to use it), and sure enough, it worked like a charm.

Here’s where it gets very Minnesota.

As the suspect slowed to take a corner near Otto Avenue and Shepard Road, the police Tahoe moved in, deployed the Grappler, and hooked the truck like a big ol' walleye on the line, followed by the officer yelling, 'Fish on! Fish on!'

Watch Eagan Police Use Grappler for First Time in Minnesota Chase:

In the video above shared by the Eagan Police Department, you can see the driver, a woman whose name hasn’t been released, bail out and take off running, but officers quickly caught up and reeled her in, too. She’s now facing charges for fleeing police both in a vehicle and on foot, driving after revocation, no proof of insurance, and blowing through a red light in the first place.

So yeah, casting a line and fishing for lawbreakers is the most Minnesotan police stop ever.
