Rice County Fair

The new RCF Ambassadors and Junior Ambassadors will be announced following a program Saturday on the fairgrounds in Faribault. The program begins 6:00 p.m. in the Cannon River Room.

Sesker says, "Keep in mind that the people getting sick, 95 percent of the people getting sick are those that are unvaccinated. So please if you wanna keep kids in school unmasked, keep our athletics and all of our extra curricular activities going, band, choir, get a vaccine. "

The Lakers play Saturday at St. Benedict with a 12:05 p.m. first pitch.

Pat Rice was not only a Rice County Fair Outstanding Senior Citizen Award recipient but also was chosen the state winner in 2015.

It's Senior Day and Daycare Day Thursday at the Rice County Fair. The Senior Spotlight Meal is 11:30 a.m. Senior Volunteer Program will be 1:00 p.m.

Wednesday Jerry Groskreutz is looking forward to hosting the "Best of the Best Agriculture Awards" from the fair in an expanded KDHL AM Minnesota program. Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen is scheduled to be in attendance.

2019 Rice County Fair Ambassadors Kelsie Demars, Kaia Quimby and Ella Schmidt each gave their farewell address while judges were making their final decision.

There are six young women vying for Ambassador and five Junior Ambassador candidates including two boys and three girls.

Garwood also talked about a new display in the museum of farm implements from the 1852 to 1862 time frame.

I have been on a couple trips overseas with the Schraders and can tell you this couple, now in their 80's have the energy of people much younger. They are like sponges in obtaining more knowledge about the world we live in. I enjoyed my visits with them in those foreign environments.
