A 70-mile-wide path stretching more than 2,000 miles across America will go dark this summer. Here are all the details about what you'll be able to see right here in Minnesota.

Unfortunately, Minnesota won't be in the direct path of what they call "totality" this according to Only in Your State. It'll be the first coast-to-coast eclipse in the country since nearly 100 years ago. On August 21st, the eclipse will stretch from Salem, Oregon to Charelston, South Carolina. Fortunately, we will still see something incredible happening in the sky in Minnesota.

"Here in Minnesota, we won't be seeing a total eclipse this time. Minnesotans who were around in 1954 were lucky enough to see a total eclipse pass over the southern half of the state. The next time Minnesota will experience a total solar eclipse will be in 2099." On August 21st, we will see a partial eclipse in the sky between 1:02-1:10 pm.

Only in Your State recommends driving as far south (in Minnesota) as you can if you can't get out of town to get in the direct path. Because we live in southern Minnesota, we could potentially see an 80% coverage of the sun.
