When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you aaaare. Sorry, I had to. The sky is going to be lit up this weekend with the most amazing natural beauty. According to NASA, we could see anywhere from 50 to 100 shooting stars an hour this weekend.

The Perseid Meteor Shower happens every year, but this year is going to be even more amazing. Why? The moon will just be a sliver in the sky come August 9th. And a new moon, meaning no moonlight, will occur on August 11th. Meaning, we will be able to see the stars, especially the shooting stars more clearly.

When is the best time to watch them? According to Earthsky, "the best time is between midnight and dawn. The best mornings are probably August 11, 12 and 13. The best skies are those far from city lights."

Fun fact: Even though the meteors will shoot in many different directions, they are all coming from the same point in the sky.
