I cannot remember the last day we saw the sun. It is likely not as long ago as it seems, but it sure would be nice to have some sunshine along with these temperatures much above average. Wednesday's longer range forecast was predicting sunshine on Saturday. This morning when I looked at the forecast it is now going to be cloudy every day through Thursday! The forecast did not go beyond Thursday. Actually there is a fairly simple answer as to why we are experiencing so many cloudy days.

With all the rain we have received this fall, the landscape is totally saturated. The lakes, rivers and drainage ditches are very high. In addition many ponds and wetlands have water in them when many times in the fall they do not. When the temperature drops to around freezing, a lot of fog is formed, resulting in cloudy days. I am trying to look at the positive side, it is not really cold with a lot of snow!
