KDHL News Director Gordy Kosfeld picked a good week to take a well-deserved vacation to Texas. To spend some time with and helping out his uncle, and take in some Twins games while he is there.

Tuesday night we had all the storm coverage on the area, including two tornado touchdowns, in the Cannon City and Dennison areas. Thankfully there was not a lot of damage and no injuries.

Wednesday night a black man was shot by a police officer in Falcon Heights. Including a viral video of the aftermath and all of the uproar and demonstrations.

Thursday night while all of that is being sorted out, during a peaceful demonstration in Dallas, five police officers were shot and others wounded by a shooter.

Then one that hits close to home, literally on Friday. Two blocks from my house in Minneapolis a 2-year-old boy was shot and killed and a 15-month-old girl injured in a senseless gang shooting. It saddens me that this neighborhood I have called home for most of my life has turned so violent in the past few years. And what is yet to come.

Sounds like there will be some rough thunderstorms Sunday and Monday and again maybe in the middle of the week.
