Summer is flying by! Seriously, it is already mid-August and I feel much of summer has gotten away from me. Surely, I can't be the only person who would like to extend summer at least one more month! Every year, I create a list of things I want to do in the summer, and so far, for various reasons, I am woefully behind. But the weekend is here, and there is a lot of excellent things going on, so I'll be crossing a few items off that list and I hope you're able to make the most of the weekend as well !

This weekend is filled with fun in our area, so get out there and enjoy your Saturday and Sunday!

On Friday, the Faribault Main Street Program is hosting a Blue Collar BBQ and Arts Festival Pre-Party and Grill Lighting Ceremony from 6-9PM at F-Town Brewing Co. Live DJ music provided by Mike Eiler of Power 96, and you have the chance to win a Traeger Grill valued at $500 with no cost to enter to win!

Saturday morning the farmers market will be in Central Park

The ninth annual The Ride will be held at Faribault Harley-Davidson on Saturday. Breakfast is at 8:30AM, registration begins at 9AM. The event includes food, prizes and music!

The Rice County Historical Society is hosting the first History Walk around Faribault. Registration begins at 9AM Saturday.

The Faribault High School Honor Society will be hosting a car wash fundraiser at Fareway Foods from 11AM to 4PM on Saturday.

The eighth annual Blue Collar BBQ and Arts Fest, hosted by the Paradise Center for the Arts, takes place Saturday on Central Avenue in downtown Faribault from 11AM to 11PM. The event is free to attend and boasts live music, artists, vendors and food booths, in addition to children's activities.

And don't forget that a short drive away, the Goodhue County Fair and Dakota County Fair are underway!
