I was out spraying my corn yesterday afternoon and had to take this picture of a spot in my corn field that had a few weeds growing. This was an area that drowned out the past couple of years. After the crop was destroyed, weeds grew and went to seed. I knew this was going to happen but to get to these spots in a field you would have to drive through and destroy good corn and soybeans. Now we have an area with a bank of weed seed we will struggle with for many years.

This is a small area that did not get a herbicide application when the corn was about 2 inches tall. You can see how the whole field would have looked like had it not had a herbicide application when it was a couple of inches tall. A couple of the herbicides I used have been on the market for about 30 years. Maybe they are still very effective at controlling weeds because they have not been used much the past few years.
