The Wanamingo Jacks are two victories away from their second straight state tournament trip. If you can't attend the games in Owatonna, they will be on the airwaves with yours truly on the call.

The Region 5C Minnesota State Amateur Baseball playoffs wrap up this weekend before the state tournament opens next weekend in Hutchinson and Dassel.

The Waseca Braves punched their ticket to state last weekend by winning a couple of thrilling games, including a 12-inning affair with the Jacks.

Wanamingo plays Dodge County on Saturday on Chuck Fuller Field in Dartts Park in Owatonna and coverage on KDHL Radio 920 AM will begin at 12:45PM.

If Wanamingo wins, they would play Stewartville/Racine at 4PM and we would have that game beginning about 3:45PM on Power 96 Radio 95.9 FM.

The winner of the second game would also qualify for state and would play Waseca on Sunday to determine the region champion and top seed.

The top seed from the region receives a bye in the first round and automatically enters the state tournament's second weekend.

In Region 4C, the Cannon Falls Bears are a game away from state qualification. The Bears host Minnesota Lake at 4PM Saturday and the winner would go to state.

In the winner's bracket, Hampton and Blue Earth play at 1PM. The loser plays the winner of the Cannon Falls game at 7PM.

The loser of that game is the No. 3 3 seed from Region 4C and the winner would play the winner of the Hampton vs. Blue Earth game Sunday to determine the region champion and top seed.
