Vince Gill has released another track, "Me and My Girl," off his most recent album, Down to My Last Bad Habit.

Not only did Gill co-produce "Me and My Girl" alongside Justin Niebank, he also put pen to paper to write the the tune, which is a tried-and-true country love song: "I love some bluegrass pickin' / I love Little Jimmy Dickens / Granny Lucy's fried chicken on a Sunday afternoon / Just puttin’ off a Monday / My baby right beside me / Out drivin’ in the country underneath a yellow moon," Gill sings to open of the track before breaking into the chorus, during which he sings, "Roll down the windows / Let that old wind blow right through your hair / Not a care in the world / We'll take the long way / Down a two-lane highway / Headed for nowhere, just me and my girl."

The concept of "Me and My Girl" -- love on the open road out in the country -- isn't anything particularly new to country fans, but Gill's clear voice shines through amid the song's fairly simple instrumentation and background vocals. Readers can press play on the video above to hear the song.

Gill released Down to My Last Bad Habit earlier this year; he co-wrote, co-produced and played on all of the project's 12 tracks, working with fellow country artists Ashley MonroeCam and Little Big Town.

“Forty years into this, it’s still as much fun as it’s ever been to play music,” Gill says. “At the end of the day, what I get excited about is doing something I haven’t done before. When I record a song, I feel successful if I’ve accomplished something new.”

Down to My Last Bad Habit is available for download via iTunes and Amazon.
