The annual varietal plot meeting sponsored by the South Central College Farm Business Management program will be Wednesday December 6, 2017 at the event center at the South Central College in Faribault. The meeting will begin with supper at 7:00 p.m. followed by the plot data review. Everyone is welcome, you, spouse, business partners, lenders, seed dealers, etc.

The varietal plot meeting and supper is free but you are asked to RSVP so they know how many to prepare for. Contact Mark Weha 507-838-7459, Eric Kinsley 612-432-1203 or Jeff Schultz 507-838-7459. I have been at the varietal plot meeting in the past and it is always well attended.

One of the reasons that I and other farmers pay attention to these plot results is because they are unbiased replicated trials that are in our area. Many times there will be quite large ranges in yields of different corn hybrids and soybean varieties. This can bee good information to help make one of the most important decisions a farmer makes as to which corn hybrids and soybean varieties to plant.
