Faribault City Council Incumbents Kay Duchene and Kevin Voracek will remain on the council and a newcomer will join them.  Janna Viscomi received the most votes among six candidates vying for three seats on the council during Tuesday's election.  Viscomi tallied 2898 votes, Voracek 2885 and Duchene 2627.  The rest of the voting went like this, Brian Peterson 2157, Thomas Spooner 1725 and Sonny Wasilowski 1378.  Incumbents Thomas Casper and Richard Olson were also re-elected and will be joined on the Faribault Public School Board by new members Chad Wolff and Andrea Vogelsberg.  Wolff received the most votes, 3883 and Vogelsberg the second most with 3675.  Casper collected 3641 and Olson 3325.  The next most votes were 2938 for Michael Ross.  The Mayor of Morristown was a close race with Rick Vollbrecht receiving 137 votes and Kurt Wolf 125.  Dale Dulas tallied 64.  In Nerstrand Kate Stuart edged Monica Gernandt 86 to 76.  Rice County Auditor Fran Windschitl told KDHL after looking up the state statutes a local race can be recounted if the voting margin is 10 votes or less and a recount is requested.  Gaining re-election on the Rice County Board of Commissioners were Steve Bauer in District 4 and Dave Miller in District 3.  Bauer beat Faribault City Council Member John Rowan 2163 to 852 and Miller outdistanced Shila Karn 1949 to 780.  Voter turnout in the county was 61.5 percent, 57.9 percent in Faribault, 63.9 percent in Northfield and 62.1 percent throughout the rest of the county.
