Kenyon-Wanamingo and Kasson-Mantorville received the top seeds in the Class A and Class 2A state wrestling tournament.

The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights have been ranked second in the state in Class A virtually all season. The Knights will wrestle Section 1A champion Caledonia at 9AM Thursday, February 25, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The teams involved in the tournament seed the tournament and defending state champion Minneota is the No. 2 seed. They were the top-ranked team in Class A all season by "The Guillotine." The Vikings open with West Central Area/Ashby/Evansville.

No. 3 seed Frazee faces Sibley East and No. 4 Pierz wrestles No. 5 Kerkoven-Murdock-Sunburg.

The semifinals are at 1PM and the championship is at 7PM Thursday. Consolation matches are at 11AM and the third place showdown is at 5PM.

In Class 2A, unbeaten and top-ranked Kasson-Mantorville is the top seed and will wrestle Mora in the opener at 11AM.

No. 2 seed Simley goes up against Totino-Grace. No. 3 seed Foley wrestles Perham and No. 4 Scott West tangles with Wabasso/Red Rock Central.

In Class 3A, No. 1 Apple Valley faces Hastings. No. 2 seed St. Michael-Albertville wrestles Minnetonka. No. 3 Anoka will grapple with Centennial; Section 1 champion and No. 4 Farmington gets a tough draw with Willmar. The Cardinals have just one loss on the season.

The Class 2A and 3A semis and finals are also at 1PM and 7PM.
