It was fun again this year to be the "official" un-hooker at the NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull Saturday evening at the Rice County Fair. The pull was canceled last year because of heavy rain the morning of the pull. With all the rain earlier in the week I was wondering if we would have it this year. Fortunately there was some sun Friday afternoon and Saturday that helped dry the track in front of the grandstand. Plus, crew from the Fair Board were working with heavy equipment to get the water drained off so it could dry!

There are many different classes but my favorite is the farm tractors. Well, the hoods on these tractors is about the only part that is similar to the tractors I know! The John Deere 4010 in the picture had about 80 horsepower when it was made in the early 1960's. This 4010 has about 1,100 horsepower and gets going down the track at 30 miles an hour. I enjoy the semi class too. The semi in the picture is putting out about 2,000 horsepower.
