The Tri-City United Titans had their football season end Friday night in the semifinals of the Class AAA Minnesota High School football playoffs.

The unbeaten Pierz Pioneers defeated the Titans 29-6 at Park Center High School.

Tri-City United ended their season 10-2. Their only other loss was to Marshall 34-0.

Pierz will play in the Prep Bowl at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus at 10AM Friday.

They will face the winner of Saturday's 1PM game between Jackson County Central and Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at Maple Grove High School for the AAA state championship.

In other semifinal state action Friday night:

In Class AAAA, the defending champion Becker Bulldogs will defend their title in the Prep Bowl after defeating previously unbeaten Stewartville 34-7 at Chanhassen.

Becker's opponent in the 4PM game Friday at the Bank will either be South St. Paul or Rocori. Those teams collide at 4PM Saturday at Maple Grove High School.

In Class AA, unbeaten Pipestone Area rolled over United North Central 49-9 at St. Cloud State Husky Stadium and will play the winner of Saturday's game between Caledonia and Ottertail Central at Mounds View High school at 1PM.

The state title game is 1PM Friday at TCF Bank Stadium.

In Class AAAAA semifinal football at Minnetonka, St. Thomas Academy got by Moorhead 17-14 to advance to Saturday's 4PM Prep Bowl game.

The Cadets will tangle with the winner of Saturday's contest between defending state champion Mankato West and St. Michael-Albertville.  They play at Prior Lake High School at 6PM.

The Class AAAAAA championship match-up has been determined. Osseo nipped Totino-Grace 22-21 Thursday night and East Ridge got by Maple Grove in Eden Prairie 24-20.

The championship will be 7PM Friday at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

In nine-man semifinal play Friday, the Underwood Rockets blasted past Ely 37-14.

Saturday defending state champion Grand Meadow and Waubun collide in a battle of unbeatens at 5PM at St. Cloud State Husky Stadium.

The nine-man championship will be 10AM Friday at the Bank.

Both semifinal games in Class A are Saturday. The Goodhue Wildcats face the defending State Champion Minneota Vikings at 3PM at Prior Lake High School and Minneapolis North plays Barnum at St. Cloud State 8PM.
