Owatonna school officials announce that a series of tours of the Owatonna High School will be offered leading up to the May 14, 2019 vote on building a new high school. The tours are open to the public.

The Owatonna Public School Board accepted the proposal in December from the Community Task Force of Facilities to move toward replacing Owatonna High School. At their January 28, 2019 meeting the board plans to review language for a bond referendum.

The public tours will depart on the half hour between 8 am and 10 am from near the auditorium doors. Dates for the tours follow.

  • February 2, 16
  • March 2, 16
  • April 13, 27
  • May 11

Each date listed is a Saturday.

The community task force formed in July to study facilities and develop a long term plan. In November the group presented the recommendation of building a new high school. At the December 3 work session, several local business leaders addressed the board to offer various forms of financial support.
