This is what I saw outside the studio today. In my opinion it is too early for snow. We still have some corn to harvest in our listening area. We were lucky that the heaviest snow stayed to the North of our area. It is difficult to harvest corn when the stalks have snow on them. The snow gets into the combine and usually melts. When it gets wet inside the combine the corn sticks to the leaves, stalks and will plug up the sieve. The result is the corn ends up on the ground and not in the grain tank. Hopefully in a couple days the snow will blow off the corn and harvest can continue. In Monday's Crop Progress Report we still had 10 percent of the corn out in the field in Minnesota.
