So after my shift on Power 96 on Thursday afternoon, you won't hear me again until Monday. It's time to get one of those "check ups for guys over 50" done. Some doctors are saying do it. Some say it's not needed yet. I'm going with my gut and following the doctor's request to get my first colonoscopy done.

Am I a little nervous? I'd be lying if I said no. Part of it is, aside from local anesthetics for stitch-up cuts and the like, I have never been really sedated. I have not any operations where I was put out or sedated. So I am a little nervous as to how I will react.

As far as the outcome, I don't expect any problems. I feel fine. I have issues, but not in that area. And I guess I am looking forward to the piece of mind getting it done and not having to do it again for a long time. It sounds like the worst part is going to be all the laxatives and other things I have to take to "flush me out" the day before. If I can remember anything, I'll tell you more about it next week.

Wish me luck.
